You leave me glowing.
Can I hide it?
Maybe if I tug on my hair, bite my fingernails, or just keep silent, I can take the attention away from the glossy appearance.
How overwhelming it is trying to hide one’s heart.
It’s only the size of a fist, yet it feels so huge,
So massive it cannot be contained,
Not behind ribs, or skin, or a shirt or sweater of any kind.
It cannot even be camouflaged by the blood.
You inspire my heart and my heart controls the glow, emitting a radiance that can be detected by any observer.
Thus, you leave me glowing.
You leave me so that my teeth read your name when I smile, and my eyes become yours so you are all that I see, my ears hear your music, my nose smells your breath, and my heart just glows because you cannot affect it physically.
You simply inspire it.
Everything one says, does, or even sees, the heart notices and begins to shine and be vibrant.
The glow travels through my veins, seeps through the skin until I glow all over and there’s no hiding that.
        You leave me glowing.
