Transient Memories

It’s funny how pleasurable memories seem transient and ethereal when you need them.
Grasping on to the satisfying memories is an arduous struggle requiring a focused,
zealous mind to key in on a particular element, individually, to gain the desired image of
                                        happiness, exhilaration, and bliss.
Meanwhile, the less desirable memories are imprinted indelibly on the mind, inexorably
forcing submission into that which is displeasing.
The only thoughts that come easily are those of affliction and misfortune, which are
                                       deplorably convenient in access.
Coveted feelings of enchantment seem to lie just out of reach.
