Copyright Restrictions “The Copyright law of the United States (Title 17, United States Code) governs the making of photocopies or other reproductions of copyrighted material.  Under certain conditions specified in the law, libraries and other archives are authorized to furnish a photocopy or other reproduction.  One of these conditions is that the photocopy or reproduction is not to be ‘used for any purpose other than private study, scholarship, or research.’  If the user makes a request for and later uses a copy or reproduction for purposes in excess of  ‘fair use’, that user may be liable for copyright infringement.” Other copyright restrictions and charges may apply.  Howard University Libraries reserves the right to use its discretion to refuse any ILL request that violates the copyright stipulation.

The Howard University Libraries Interlibrary Loan Service enables students, faculty and staff to obtain materials not available on campus from a national interlibrary lending network.

Copies of theses and dissertations submitted at Howard University are available at the Moorland-Spingarn Research Center in The Founders Library.  Please see Moorland Library's  Rules and Regulation for using these materials. 

Theses and dissertations from other institutions may be obtained for a fee from Dissertations

Express delivery library rates are: $24.00 for unbound volume, and $37.50 for bound volumes. Please consult library staff for details, call (202) 806-5716, Founders; or (202) 806-9445, Health Sciences.
