
The Howard University Museum, located in the Dorothy Porter Wesley Room of Founders Library, is a teaching museum. The museum selects, exhibits, preserves, and interprets artifacts and documents useful for a broad interpretation of the history and culture of people of African descent. The museum also exhibits documents and artifacts relating to Howard history.

Howard in Retrospect: Images of the Capstone is designed to immerse the viewer in the Howard experience. This exhibition, which includes over 200 images obtained from the University Archives, documents the unique and glorious history of Howard from its founding until the mid-1970s.
